What To Bring

Desert Botanic Garden covers 140 acres so it's important that you wear comfortable walking shoes. And because it's generally hot throughout the year in Phoenix, you'll want to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.

You'll be able to keep your little ones busy with age-appropriate activities. At the admission entrance booths, you can pick up either the Desert Detectives Bingo activity sheet, which is for children three to eight, or the Cacti Quest Scavenger Hunt activity sheet for kids eight and older.

  • Are there are any special things to do at Desert Botanic Garden?

Daily and weekly things to do abound and they're included in the price of admission. Talks in the Garden last about 30 minutes and cover such interesting topics as Sonoran Desert plants and ecosystems. For those interested in the area's fine feathered friends, Birds in the Garden is both educational and entertaining.
  • Is there a place to buy souvenirs?

You can find souvenirs and just about everything else in the Garden Shop, including books, clothes, jewelry, music, DVDs, toys, and games. Part of all proceeds goes to maintain Desert Botanical Garden as well as to support horticultural programs and environmental education.
