4th Annual Mask Alive! Festival of Masks

The largest gathering of masked performers in the Southwest returns as an in-person festival this September. Cultural Coalition’s 4th Annual Mask Alive Festival will be held at Pioneer Park in Mesa, AZ on Sunday, September 19 from 2 to 5 p.m.\ \ Cultural Coalition is excited to offer this free festival showcasing local vibrant arts and culture organizations to the families and communities of Arizona. Each year, Mask Alive presents a variety of entertainment that spans the diverse cultures of the Valley, with dance, music, puppets and more, all presented by colorful masked performers. Attendees can enjoy the powerful beats of Japanese Taiko drums with Ken Koshio, the colors and costumes of the Quetzalli Ballet Folklórico dancers, and the exciting rhythms of the Sankofa African music and dancers.\ \ Find more information about artist vendors, entertainment and food trucks on the event page at culturalcoalition.com/events/mask-alive .\ \ Family arts and craft activities, local food trucks, and opportunities to join in the masked celebrations will also return as part of the festival. This event is made possible in part by the Raza Development Fund and Mesa City Councilmembers David Luna, Francisco Heredia as well as Vice Mayor Jenn Duff.
